ABN (Australian Business Number)
An 11-digit number that identifies a business or sole trader to the government and to other businesses.
What newcomers get wrong
Having an ABN doesn't mean you're an employee. If a job ad says 'must have ABN', you'll likely be working as a contractor — no super, no leave, you handle your own tax.
