Privacy Policy

Dollar Dreams (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, optional profile photo, suburb and state, country of origin.
  • Listing information: any text, photos, or details you provide when posting a rental or travel companion request.
  • Webinar and newsletter subscriptions: email, optional phone, name, and your explicit consent to receive marketing emails.
  • Technical information: IP address, user agent, and pages visited (for security and basic analytics).

How we use your information

  • To provide our services (account access, posting and browsing listings, webinar registration).
  • To send transactional emails (sign-in links, listing notifications, account updates).
  • To send marketing emails — only if you have explicitly consented.
  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose it only to:

  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) under contractual data-protection terms.
  • Our email provider (Resend) for transactional and marketing email delivery.
  • Law enforcement, where required by Australian law.

Data residency

Australian-resident user data is stored in our Supabase project hosted in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region. Email delivery via Resend may pass through their global infrastructure as required to deliver mail.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you (use the “Download my data” tool in your account, or email us).
  • Correct inaccurate information by editing your profile or contacting us.
  • Delete your account — soft-delete is available via “Delete my account” in your dashboard. After a 30-day grace period the data is removed except where we are legally required to retain it.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by toggling marketing consent in your profile.

Cookies and analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites. We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions only.

If you have a privacy concern, please contact us at info@dollardreams.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
